Sisal comes from the Agave Sisilana plant which is farmed in the sub-tropical regions of South America, the West Indies, and Africa. It is woven in so many different ways that produce a great variety of textures and colours, which are all very hardwearing and very beautiful.

Seagrass grows in the tropical climates of China and Vietnam. The crop is harvested by hand, dried and spun into cords, which are woven to produce a waxy floorcovering which when new has a greenish shade which gradually tones to a biscuit colour.
